Whitby boasts some great beaches & lots of bars & resturants such as 'The Star Inn The Harbour' & the 'best fish & chips in the world' from the world famous 'Magpie Cafe' to name a couple.

Whitby is also ideally situated along the beautiful Northern Coast where Sandsend, Runswick Bay , Staithes & Redcar can be visited by taking the A171 North.
Taking the A171 South will take you to to Robin Hoods Bay, Scarborough, Filey & Bridlington to name a few.
The cottage is also ideally placed to visit the very popular North Yorkshire Moors National Park which boasts places such as Grosmont, Goathland where Hearbeat was recorded upto 2009, Blakey Ridge where the Red Lion Pub is well worth a visit for a hearty meal.
Or for a longer day out why not visit Eden Camp, Flamingoland, Alpamare, Yorkshire Water / Aqua Park or visit the beautiful City of York with it's lovely town centre, cobbled streets & the grand York Minster.
